Mexico Songs From the Countryside

Mexico Songs From the Countryside

There are a lot of country songs that are about Mexico or have some type of Mexican influence. These Mexico songs include hits from Eddy Raven (I Got Mexico), Robert Earl Keen (New Life in Old Mexico), and David Lee Murphy (Loco). Tim McGraw also made a song called "That's Why God Made Mexico", and of course there is the Jimmy Buffet classic "Mexico".

There is a rich heritage of country music dealing with Mexico and the border it shares with us. One of the best border towns is the Texas town of Nuevo Laredo. This town has an old West feel to it even today, and it is the largest inland port in the world. If you're driving across the border, you can listen to some great Mexican country songs to put yourself in the proper mood. And if you speak any Spanish, there is a great heritage of Mexican border music in Spanish as well.
