There are a lot of country songs that are about Mexico or have some type of Mexican influence. These Mexico songs include hits from Eddy Raven (I Got Mexico), Robert Earl Keen (New Life in Old Mexico), and David Lee Murphy (Loco). Tim McGraw also made a song called "That's Why God Made Mexico", and of course there is the Jimmy Buffet classic "Mexico".
There is a rich heritage of country music dealing with Mexico and the border it shares with us. One of the best border towns is the Texas town of Nuevo Laredo. This town has an old West feel to it even today, and it is the largest inland port in the world. If you're driving across the border, you can listen to some great Mexican country songs to put yourself in the proper mood. And if you speak any Spanish, there is a great heritage of Mexican border music in Spanish as well.

Spain, as we all know, is not only known for its rich culture and heritage but also for various types of Spanish music, thanks to the neighboring places like Aragon, Andalusia, etc.
Several types of Spanish music are as follows:
1. Tejano: Tejano music originated n Mexico. It gives a classical feel and makes heavy use of accordion or synthesizers.
2. Salsa: Salsa music is a popular type of Spanish music mostly featured in Cuban and Puerto Rican communities. It is a combination of African rhythms and Spanish beats.
3. Flamenco: While listing out the types of Spanish music, how can we forget Flamenco which is a defined by its 'political' lyrics. It makes heavy use of hand claps, stomping feet and percussion.

Classical Spanish music has had a big influence on the music traditions in Mexico, which range far beyond mariachi. Classical music in Mexico and in the Americas has been terribly under-represented for decades. That is the who point of creating the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas and the Music Festival of the Americas, in order to showcase the huge collection of composers who have put out tremendous works and not received the impact and promotion that they deserve.
Music from the double album "My Mexican Soul", by Alondra de la Parra, will be featured in performances at the Music Festival of the Americas this year, accompanied by Spanish classical guitarist Pablo Sainz Villegas. Music from Mexican composers Ricardo Castro, Gustavo E. Campa, Jose Pablo Moncayo and Arturo Marquez will also be featured.
